I need to level up

Jarhead (2005) Dir: Sam Mendes

Jarhead kind of surprised me. I went in expecting an over the top war film that had little to no character/plot. What I got was an emotionally gripping tale about the physiological effect war has on people. It’s a Full Metal Jacket in the Gulf War. The film has some exceptional performances from Jake Gyllenhall and Peter Sarsgaard. My one complaint is about the films soundtrack. It took away a lot of the intensity from most scenes, but again this a minor complaint. I feel like this one went a little under the radar but if you get the chance check it out on Netflix instant.
